Many of you will already know TIM EXILE for his previous releases on Planet-Mu, and a truly unbelievable live show that rampaged through Europe over the past three years, setting a new benchmark for what an audience should expect from a ‘live’ electronic act, and possibly being the first artist to achieve genuine dancefloor success with entirely improvised material.
Never one to let the dust settle, Tim returned from this extensive touring inspired to push further into the unknown; to build a new machine, a new system for performance, and furthermore, a new style of writing music in the studio. One year later, he’s created the most advanced and exhilarating performance on the planet, and written what could be the most astonishing album to emerge in 2009, quickly snapped up by the mighty WARP RECORDS. Not a bad year, you might say.
And now, we have a few predictions. Firstly, Tim Exile will re-shape the landscape of Pop music in the same way that Björk, Timberland, and Radiohead have done in the past. Secondly, once the vast realms of possibility are exposed, the final nail will be hammered into the coffin of the dreary laptop performance, so dead the term ‘live’ will seem oxymoronic. The future is bright, flamboyant, and utterly inspiring.
