Tycho is the music project of San Francisco based artist and producer Scott Hansen. As Tycho, Hansen blends swirling melodies into vaguely triumphant arcs that crisscross between stuttering beats and vocal samples, creating rolling sonic landscapes that extend off into the horizon. His hazy, organic compositions drench the listener in a sun-bleached daze, as warm and enveloping as a summer day spent lying in a field. Hansen’s design alter-ego, ISO50, is responsible for the Barack Obama campaign’s second “Progress” poster, a dreamy watercolor tree that is the perfect visual concurrence to Tycho’s lush and atmospheric aural productions. Tycho will be making his Seattle debut Saturday night at the Baltic Room as part of the "Ghostly International Label Showcase."
