Jahcoozi has thrown down a sledgehammer of sound onto the Berlin electronic music scene and the resulting reverberations of thick booty bass and intelligent lyrics are being felt around the globe. Drawing from an international background which spans from London to Tel Aviv to New York, the trio’s aggressively smart style is the result of an incongruent collaboration of disparate personalities between insomniac instrumentalist Robot Koch, super sound nerd Oren Gerlitz, and raging female bad-ass lead MC, Sri-Lankan born Sasha Perera. Her buttery voice belies the fierce message and delivery of her socially conscious words that confront face-forward the stinging modern issues of race, gender, and generation that simmer in the “disillusioned brand that they call mankind.” Backed up with dirty and digitalized bass, Jahcoozi delivers an experience of bombastic beats and powerful intensity that will rattle your heart as much as your rib cage.
