Tujiko Noriko combines sweet and sour in her music, taking the concept of “pop” music and roughing it up with glitches and clicks that don’t fall quite where they should. Layering her sweet voice over stuttering soundscapes, her songs have an inherent tenderness, muted by their minimal, melancholic, mechanical backing. Prolific, Noriko has released 11 albums since 2000, many of them collaborations (Peter 'Pita' Rehberg, Aoki, Takamasa), and most recently her solo album Truth. In addition to music production, the now Paris-based artist also creates experimental short films.

Tujiko Noriko will be co-headlining the "Decontructing Pop" showcase, Thursday night at Neumos.
