Born and raised in the suburbs outside of Detroit, Derek Plaslaiko had easy access to the Electrifying Mojo and the Wizard's DJ sets, informing his musical sensibilities before he began DJing at Midwestern raves. His forward-thinking DJ sets earned him a residency at Family, held at Detroit's legendary Motor, before becoming a resident at the Untitled parties, before moving to New York. He's now one of the residents for the infamous Bunker in Brooklyn, honored in 2006 as New York's Best Techno DJ by the Village Voice, continuing to expand on his Detroit roots with both his booze-fueled DJ sets and his respected productions.
