It was just last February when Deadmau5’s track “Faxing Berlin” made a buzz on Pete Tong’s Radio One show, throwing the practically unknown artist into the spotlight. In 2007 alone, the young Toronto producer was featured on over 15 compilations and had more downloads than any other artist on Beatport, electronic music’s leading online retailer. At the 2008 Beatport Music Awards, he was named Best Electro House and Progressive House Artist, and also snagged the “Most Influential Person in Electronic Music” award. His forward-thinking style combines elements of techno, electro, tech-house, and progressive, layering them with funky beats and catchy basslines. His live show, complete with laptop, Lemur, visuals, and a huge Mau5 head costume, is a much talked-about spectacle that is sure to be as original as his sound. Deadmau5 will be healining this year's "Dirty Dancing Showcase" at Neumos Friday night. This will be his debut Seattle performance.
