[ al-ga rhythms ] Presented by Latenight Renegades and Fubar

Sitting on the bleeding edge of forward thinking techno sound, Latenight Renegades and Fubar strive to take the path untaken. Respecting the past, but looking to the future; we bring current and future trends of techno and electro together. In this showcase you will hear some of the current pioneers that are engineering the future sound of techno. Al-ga rhythms is a recurring newsletter designed to bring the electronic community together, while helping keep the people informed about cutting-edge electronic music events happening in and around the Pacific NW.

Cascabel Gentz = [a]pendics.shuffle & Dilo L.A. based Kenneth James Gibson and Buenos Aires & Berlin based Dilo come together to form: Cascabel Gentz. Two brothers from different mothers who connect their selves in a very special way, blending the goods of house, techno and minimal with organic elements like their own vocals or guitars, fusing with New Wave, Indie Rock, Hip Hop and IDM. The duo has just released their debut EP’S on berliner labels We Are and Einmaleins, featuring remixes by house coolcats Kreon and Afrilounge and its planning also releases on Lo Mid High Unlmtd and Adjunct.

Dilo, also known as Elephant Pixel (and Franco di Lorenzo), a night active member of the rare species of very open-minded producers who connect the two distinct worlds of rock and electronics via pop, IDM and experimentation, is an utterly musical being which baffles the world of zoology as until now, some of his behavioral characteristics have yet to be explained: If you lift him out of his nest, the Igloo, and expose him to daylight, the furry fellow starts to make squealing, reverberating noises. Navigating through the dark tunnels and alleyways of its habitat, Dilo orientates himself by employing ultrasonic frequencies that bounce back and forth and thus trigger the sonic sensors that guide him. His live and dj sets have been heard in Argentina, USA, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Germany, England, Romania, Belorusia, Russia, Ukraine, Columbia, Costa Rica & Uruguay.

[a]pendics.shuffle AKA. Kenneth James G. / [a]pendics.shuffle / Eight Frozen Modules / K.J. Gibbs / The Premature Wig / dubLoner / Bal Cath / Electronic Music Composer / Reverse Commuter / Hiss and Buzz Kenneth James Gibson is a man of many personas. Keeping up with him can be a time consuming, yet rewarding venture into sound. Always a surprise and never a let down, he gives us what we want but dont expect. A rare stone in todays musical climate, Ken is rolling and collects no moss. When Kenneth isn’t in the studio reeking havoc on his neighbors, he is touring the world playing his music for the crazy kids late at night. Ken lives in Los Angeles, California and co-runs the label Adjunct, part of the Kompakt family. Adjunct is a forward thinking techno and house label releasing such artists as Mikael Stavostrand, Dilo and Gurtz, Mathias Schaffhauser, Sutekh, Franco Cinelli, Kit Clayton, Peter F. Spiess and many more. Kenneth just finished up a big remix / live project with Crostown Rebels main man Damian Lazarus, which you can hear in Damian’s latest live sets. Kenneth has also finished up his full length Reverse Commuter LP and EP’s for DJ THREE’s label Hallucination Limited, which will be out very soon, along with some excellent remixes. The Reverse Commuter live set at WMC 2009 was listed as Mr. C’s (Superfreq) favorite set of the conference. As soon as you think you know him and can grasp whats going on, he puts on yet another mask and becomes something else.

The Perfect Cyn has been destroying dancefloors in the NW since 2002. Always cutting edge and never afraid to raise the bar, expect only the best music when Cyn’s on the lineup.
