Presented by Decibel and Bass Drop!

For the past three years, dB in the Park has been the most talked-about and well attended showcase of the Decibel Festival. This year we’re moving the event back to the beloved Volunteer Park in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. The 2011 dB in the Park event will feature four artists from the bay area based Frite Nite label (EPROM, Salva, Comma and Danny Corn). In addition, Northwest bass luminaries Natasha Kmeto, Ill Cosby, Sonny Chiba and HZ Donut will be bringing the heat. Free and all-ages, dB in the Park promises to once again unite a wide and colorful array of music lovers of all types. Frisbees, hula hoops, picnic baskets and blankets encouraged! PLEASE NOTE: IN CASE OF RAIN THIS EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE AT CHOP SUEY.

Fusing psychedelic space machine murderation, polytemponic neurocrunk and heavy-handed pleasure, Eprom creates obese ogres of bass. His mutated music is so full and rounded that it is holographic. Growing up in Chicago in the 80’s, Salva cites early inspiration in all sorts of of electronic and sampled-based music ranging from electro, juke, analog house, ghetto house, underground hip hop and bass productions. Stepping out from the rich San Francisco bass music scene into a spotlight of his own, Comma aka Ryan Gilbert is invigorating the beat community of the Bay Area and beyond with a strong shove of electronic innovation and a solid post-genre style.

A champion of syncopated, bass heavy music, Danny Corn rides the edge of experimental sounds, whilst staying firmly committed to the dancefloor. Natasha Kmeto (pronounced “kuh-meh-toe”) is an electro hip-hop, singer-producer based in Portland with a rich musical background in jazz, R&B, electronic and hip-hop she likes to describe her music as “futuristic soul.” Ill Cosby is a Seattle-based DJ/producer and the head of the Car Crash Set record label. Sonny Chiba started dj’ing in 2004 spinning drum and bass, hip hop, dub wise, electro breakz, dubstep and glitch hop.

For fans of Jamie XX, Flying Lotus, Glitch Mob and Pretty Lights.
