For this showcase, Decibel brings together four seminal artists from across the globe who have helped in defining dubstep and contemporary bass music. Production duo Mt Eden (formerly Mt Eden Dubstep), Jesse Hooper and Harley Rayner, are putting New Zealand and dubstep on the map. Within months after a friend created a YouTube channel for them in early 2010 their total hit count was in the millions and continues to rise. Breakage aka James Boyle moves effortlessly through styles from drum and bass to dubstep, combining rich tones and a sense of spaciousness in the mix. Breakage’s music is both subtle yet devastatingly effective.
Hailing from Vancouver, BC and now residing in San Francisco, CA, ill-esha burst onto the North American electronic scene as a soul vocalist featured on various releases for the likes of Breakbeat Science, Fokuz, and BluSaphir. Her multi-dimensional approach spans glitch hop, dubstep and downtempo, creating a dynamic live show. The production trio known as Triage is comprised of the integrated talents of Liar, Debt, and Seth Norman. Combined, they’re armed with 30 years of experience behind the decks and in the studio, in addition to a degree from the Berklee College of Music.
