Always a savant in the house music community, Jordan Strong has played part in unifying a movement in electronic music along the West Coast from Los Angeles to Seattle—and beyond. A Los Angeles native, Jordan tempered his musical talent from a very early age. He remains a musical virtuoso with a natural, organic depth of musicianship seeded in his early years.
After a seminal 1994 Los Angeles underground house music event, Jordan realized that house music was a positive unifying force grounding the primal urge for rhythm and dance. He reveled in watching people from all walks of life come together on the dance floor in conscious unity. Shortly thereafter, he became a resident for Uniting Souls Los Angeles, performing from LA and San Francisco to Seattle while blooming into a stellar DJ. Jordan has since played in major cities Honolulu, Acapulco, Mexico City, Las Vegas, Miami and many smaller cities up and down the West Coast. Jordan is heralded as a unique underground DJ, avoiding the commercial pitfalls of his counterparts to instead create an ever-evolving sound at the forefront of style. His sets embody anything from mystical, eclectic, dirty tech house to smooth jacking vocal house and everything House in between.
Jordan’s long relationship with Uniting Souls has been a mainstay of the West Coast sound. He has co-produced Los Angeles shows such as Big Bang, Village and “Reaching Out” fundraising events for Nextaid including toy drives and benefits for tsunami survivors in Japan. He helps coordinate and manage releases for the Uniting Souls label while working on his own productions. One of his first tracks, “Be the Light,” was charted on Ministry of Sound’s website by one Mark Farina. His highly anticipated upcoming album, Highlights in Low Light, features original music and remixes of Natural Rhythm, Rick Preston and Juan Hoerni. Jordan has recently relocated to Seattle to work with the Uniting Souls crew, where he will continue to help further culture the house sound and community of the West Coast and World.
