VJ/AV artist Jonathan Womack started visual work by building props and visual sets for a local band. Moving from rock music to electronica, glitch and dance music, he began playing around Seattle under the name Epileptic in a variety of visual styles, from slow geometric progressions to full-out psychedelic craziness jury-rigged from 50′s sex education films, Mexican wrestling movies, B-Grade sci-fi, and lost stag films.
He is a member of the music and visual collective “932″, the creative visuals director for the music label Nuearth Kitchen, and a visuals partner at Fred Wildlife Agency. He has toured with the Can-Can Cabaret, designing and playing HD projected theater sets. His company, Jinx’ 75 Live Visual Studio, has created video installations and live theater sets for UW and the City of Seattle. As a member of the Seattle video artist collective Videa, he was jointly awarded a city arts grant in 2010 for an arts residency space under the city’s “Storefronts” program.
Performing under the name Jonathan Jinx, he has performed at Bumbershoot, Experience Music Project, Seattle International Cabaret Festival, Photosynthesis Festival, Folklife Festival, Seattle Founders Day Festival, The Triple Door, Showbox/ Showbox Sodo, Neumos, Baltic Room, The King-Kat Theatre, and created an interactive video installation for Roq La Rue Gallery. This is his 3rd Decibel as a performer, and his first year on DB staff as a Visual Director. He has played with artists such as John McMillion, Carl Craig, DJ Craze, Z-Trip, Nice Nice, and ILL Cosby, and will be producing visuals for Moby, Baths, and others.
